Meet IngridI am honored to serve as a Goodnow Library Trustee and look forward to the opportunity to continue this work. I became a Goodnow Library Trustee in 2017, and I am proud of the many positive changes we as trustees accomplished during my six years guiding the library through the pandemic and other challenges. I love visiting Goodnow to check out novels, bring my grandchildren to events like the music-makers program, and take advantage of the museum passes.

Where We Are
- Access to all patrons and citizens has been expanded.
- The library offers not only print books, but also ebooks, books on CD and large print books.
- The library offers assistive technology to help patrons who are blind or have low vision.
- Working with the Senior Center, patrons who are unable to visit the library can arrange to have library materials delivered to their home.
- The children’s room now offers Spanish and Chinese storytimes.
- Fees for overdue books have been eliminated to advance the goal of inclusion and accessibility.
- The Library of Things was established in 2021 allowing patrons to borrow such things as tools, games, household goods and personal items. This collection gives patrons the opportunity to try out emerging technologies, try something out before purchasing it and allows patrons to use something that they might not otherwise have access to.
- Working with the Trustees, the Goodnow Library Foundation has transformed the library with the establishment of the Sara Sherman Now Lab and the renovation of the Historical Room. The Now Lab offers makerspace activities to all ages and the Historical Room offers a quiet space for patrons to work or study.
- The library began to offer passport services in 2020. This service is not only convenient for patrons of the library, but offers financial benefits to the library.
Where We're Going
Great things can start at Goodnow. I’m excited to work towards becoming a Climate Resilience Hub and a zero waste library. The library should become a role model in the area of sustainability.
I am a dedicated and passionate advocate for libraries and the power they have to bring communities together. As a library trustee, I will prioritize inclusion and outreach to ensure that all members of our community have access to the resources and programs they need. I will work tirelessly to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all and build partnerships with local organizations to bring new and diverse perspectives to our library.
